Missoula is considered an Urban Indian Center – people from many tribes and reservations come to Missoula for work, education, or family. The Missoula Indian Center, the Native American Student Services at UM, and
Missoula County Public Schools’ Title VII Program help bridge the gap created by relocating from reservations to urban life by functioning as primary communication centers.
Native Americans are encouraged to contact their Tribal Health and Human Services or Urban Indian Center to determine new options for better health care coverage under the Affordable Care Act. (See Health Insurance section)
